Dwarf Water Lettuce (Pista Stratioites)

Dwarf Water lettuce is a beautiful floating plant that has velvety leaves and a lush root system.

The rosettes you will receive can range between 1" and 3" across. 

It requires relatively still water because it does not tolerate the top of the leaves submerged or constantly splashed. When you receive the plants in the mail, some of the leaves might be yellow due to the moisture in the shipping bag and lack of light. You can still plop the rosettes right into your tank and it will quickly bounce back.

The roots are excellent shelter for nano fish, shrimp or fry. I like letting my Water Lettuce get a little out of control because I love the look of the upside-down forest in my tank. (as you can see in the photos) Because the roots are so prevalent, they have remarkable denitrification and water clarification abilities, so it does a great job keep water clean from harmful nitrite.

Due to it being so easy to grow and propagate it can become invasive if introduced to local waterways, please never contaminate wildlife with non-native plants/aquatic creatures.

DISCLAIMER - I have duckweed, and various snails in my tanks, I will try to shake them off, but you may get a hitchhiker or two. If you don't want snails in your tank, I would recommend a bleach dip for the plants. You can DM me for the instruction (or google, of course)
