Shell-tastic Calcium Supplement for Invertebrates

These are made from my own simple recipe, consisting of pure calcium carbonate and Organic Grass Fed Pasture Raised Beef Gelatin (excellent source of protein, collagen and amino acids).

These bags will last you a very long time depending on how many tanks you have. Most aquariums will only need one calcium treat dropped in after water changes, depending on your water KH.

If you have many invertebrates or your water is very soft you can use these supplements 1-2x a week too. As with any new aquatic food/supplements, it is best to start by just adding a small amount and seeing if your aquatic buddies need more or less. It's always easy to add more instead of removing excess.

Any leftover calcium treat may slowly dissolve into the aquarium's water column, increasing the KH levels. If the flow in your tank is low, simply stir the melted pile to mix it into the water column.

Aquatic snails require calcium for strong and clear shells. Without significant amounts of the mineral, they are susceptible to damage, displaying thin, weak shells which are more prone to breaking. A calcium deficiency can lead to a shortened lifespan and less colorful snails.

Aquatic shrimp also need calcium to prevent deformities and molting problems.

I personally love using these instead of cuttlebone, since in my area it's difficult to find without any added vitamins, which aren't good for aquatic pets. I even throw a couple of these into my turtle's tank too, they're just great!


Great for Bladder Snails, Nerite Snails, Ramshorn Snails, Mystery Snails, Malaysian Trumpet Snails, Assassin Snails, Rabbit Snails, Crayfish and shrimp!

Even land snails can benefit from this! Simply soak the supplement to soften it or place it into the water dish.
