This filter is perfect for a nano tank or a fry setup. This sponge is very fine so it is shrimp and fry safe. 

You'll need an air pump and airlines tubing.

To create larger bubbles, leave the air stone out. However, if you're looking for smaller bubbles and less noise, an air stone can be installed. Make sure to install a check valve if the sponge filter is placed above the air pump, to prevent water from running down the lines when the power goes out or the air pump is switched off.
