This order is for a handful of roughly 20 stems of guppy grass, ranging from 3”- 5" long.
You can plant them or let them float in the water column.
This stuff is great, besides being the reason my fry survive in a community tank, it removes heavy metals, toxins, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates from the water while producing oxygen. You can actually see little air bubbles floating up if your guppy grass is really happy, or if a stem breaks off in the water.
This type of plant is pretty brittle, so breakage during shipping is possible despite my best efforts. Luckily anything that breaks off will keep right on growing!
This is one of the fastest growing aquarium plants I have experience with, besides perhaps duckweed. If you're looking for something you can almost see growing, this is the stuff for you.
I also have a large goldfish who slurps this down like spaghetti if toss some trimmings into his tank.
This plant is ILLEGAL in: California
PLEASE DO NOT ORDER IF YOU LIVE IN CA
Grown SUBMERGED
Growing requirements:
- 65-83 Degrees Fahrenheit (mine have accidentally gone up to 85 and been fine)
- Ph 6-8
- Low to high light intensity.
- lower light will produce longer stems and less leaves, but will still thrive.
- Higher light will make more leaves, and the grass will still grow tall
- Very Fast growth speed! Great for Walstad tanks
- Co2 not needed
- Grows well just floating in water but can be planted and will root also
DISCLAIMER - I have duckweed and various snails, I always try to shake them off but you may get a hitchhiker or two. The eggs are very hard to see, if you don't want snails in your tank I would recommend a bleach dip for the plants. You can DM me for the instructions (or google of course)
